September 3, 2011 - Mom to Mom Swap Meet at Feeney Park - To all the moms and dads out there that have piles of baby clothes, furniture, toys and more, come to the Mom to Mom swap meet at Feeney Park in Murphys, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your stuff to sell and buy the things you need in a one stop shopping location. There will be a small fee for booth space, with part of the proceeds to be donated to the park. Retail sales and non-profits related to moms, kids and families are welcome. September 5, 2011 - Labor Day Concert – Calaveras Community Band - The Calaveras Community Band, which traces its history to the days of the Gold Rush, will present a rousing Labor Day concert from 6:30 - 8 pm under the direction of bandmaster Mic Harper. The program will feature a wide range of concert band music. The Murphys Community Club will have hot dogs, wine and other beverages for sale. There is no admission charge. September 8, 2011 - Wines of the World at the Murphys Historic Hotel - The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance will host its monthly Wines of the World Thursday, September 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Murphys Historic Hotel, 457 Main St., Murphys. Hotel Owner Dorian Faught will be presenting double gold and award-winning wines from the 2011 California State Fair Wine Judging. Calaveras County took home an impressive 21 medals from this year’s State Fair Wine Competition. Attendance is open to the public, and reservations are not required. Cost is $15 for CWA members and $25 for non-members. Guests are welcomed to dine at the hotel afterward with a $5 discount on each entrée.
