BOP sports scholarships applications now open
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic announced today that applications for the 2012 Team BOP Polytechnic High Performance Academy Sports Scholarships were open.
The Polytechnic awards ten full-fee paying scholarships annually. As well as covering the course fees for any programme studied at the Polytechnic the scholarships also provide recipients with access to sport and recreation facilities at Te Pare a Ruahine, sports support services (such as sports science testing) as well as access to a High Performance Manager for education, sporting and lifestyle support.
Past scholarship recipients have included NZ Beach Volleyball champions Sam O'Dea and Morgan Seymour, New Zealand triathlete Rebecca Kingsford, New Zealand Age Group representative surfers Alex Dive and Joe Moretti, NZ Women's Volleyballer Lisa Claassen and Black Sticks recruit, Hamish McGregor who has just been named in the 2012 London Olympic Team.
Mike Dudson, High Performance Sports Manager at the Polytechnic said he was thrilled with the progress of the young sporting talent. "The Polytechnic is committed to supporting talented athletes achieve both sporting and academic excellence. We are aware of the commitment this takes and being part of the journey is a privilege."

The High Performance Academy Award Scholarships are now open for 2012 with entries closing on Friday, 28 October 2011.
