Movies you can look forward to

The summer movie season is over. You can turn your brain back on.

You can look forward to "Moneyball," the brainy baseball movie with Brad Pitt, or "The Ides of March," the political drama starring George Clooney and Ryan Gosling, or Clint Eastwood's much-anticipated "J. Edgar."

There are certainly popcorn flicks to be had in the next couple of months before Thanksgiving, like the "Shrek" spinoff "Puss in Boots" and the robot-boxing action flick "Real Steel," which looks like tremendous fun.

The dates listed are subject to change.

THIS WEEK The Debt In a story that jumps back and forth in time, Mossad agents (Helen Mirren, Ciaran Hinds) for Israel's intelligence agency have long been hailed as heroes for tracking down a Nazi war criminal 40 years before. But are they heroes? That question is answered in a look back at the agents' actions (played by Jessica Chastain and Sam Worthington in the 1960s).

The Guard A small-town Irish cop (Brendan Gleeson) with an attitude and an odd sense of humor clashes with a by-the-book FBI agent (Don Cheadle) who comes to town investigating an international drug-smuggling ring in this off-kilter comedy.

Sarah's Key In this French film, an American journalist (Kristin Scott-Thomas) who is commissioned to write an article about the notorious 1942 Vel d'Hiv round-up in Paris learns a family secret that will forever link her with a Jewish girl from seven decades earlier.

Seven Days in Utopia Based on the sports-drama book "Golf's Sacred Journey: Seven Days at the Links of Utopia," a tour pro (Lucas Black) loses his way, mentally and physically, and finds himself stranded in Utopia, Texas. He meets a lot of nice folks, including an eccentric rancher (Robert Duvall), who help him get back in the swing of things.

Shark Night 3-D Vacationers at a lake house in the Louisiana Gulf (really? ) are under attack by sharks in this horror-thriller.
